Meet Desiree Rose
Desiree Pooley, CMT is a graduate of National Holistic Institute and has been practicing massage for more than 10 years. Throughout her career, she has received extensive additional training and has worked for multiple high end spas across the country. She felt blessed to be able to provide luxury spa treatments to her clients from anywhere, since she moved every 3 years due to her husbands career in the US Marine Corps.
In 2015 tragedy struck and her husband suffered a traumatic brain injury while serving his country, became 100% disabled and was medically retired from the UMSC. She became his primary caregiver after he was released from the hospital and from wounded warrior. This was one of the most challenging, and rewarding times of her life. She experienced first hand the trauma, heartbreak, confusion, fear, anger and multitude of other emotions that come with injuries of this nature. She threw herself into advanced trauma informed trainings, caregiver trainings, training for working with PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and more. Through increasing her knowledge and understanding, she was able to be a better wife, caregiver and massage therapist.
In 2018 she opened her private practice in Rohnert Park, Ca with the passion to specialize in helping clients suffering from PTSD, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and other visible and non-visible illnesses. She works with many military veterans, and others (police officers, firefighters etc) who were injured in the line of duty (mentally and/or physically). She has also been working with many of the 2017 firestorm survivors and their families. She provides affordable massage rates, and even a set number of monthly, no cost massages to those who desperately need this healing, but are otherwise unable to afford it. She incorporates any combination of breath work, guided mediation, crystal and/or aromatherapy into each healing massage.
“I believe that all bodies deserve a safe, supportive, judgement- free space to receive healing. Trauma can look like anything, and healing from it is not a linear process. I have seen first hand, how kind human touch can be supportive in the recovery process. Massage for trauma recovery goes much deeper than the muscles.”
“Desiree at Back 2 Balance is my go to for massage! B2B is a quaint and tranquil space..aka my happy place. I could
stay here all day.
Desiree is communicative and cares about making sure I’m getting what I need out of my visit. “
